Spring Fever Design Challenge Reveal

I would like to apologize to everyone before we start, we moved into a new place in the fall and I haven't found the perfect spot to take pictures and I have lost my cable that downloads my photos to the computer. I have been using my phone which actually takes pretty good pictures but we were having a cloudy day and I have a bit of a glare on the pictures. I didn't want to not post so I and giving you my not so great pics that I took.

My husband will be leaving for work this week so we are also trying to get in Easter egg coloring with Daddy so we can enjoy some holiday cheer. We have had our egg coloring kit for weeks and I have had to hold the reins back on the girls, explaining to them if we colored eggs early everything would be rotten. It was a challenge but they have waiting long enough.

I loved the pieces that were sent to me the colors were so vibrant, tones that I am not used to working in. I had an idea for the bracelet focal, it didn't exactly work out how I had envisioned in my head, so I do think I will be taking it apart but I wanted to show you my lovely little butterfly.

I was actually quite proud of myself I only used beads from my stash I didn't go out and buy anything new.  I wanted to have a third strand with the green and yellow Czech rounds, but I ran out of space, this is one of the things I was unhappy with myself for because I contemplated putting a ring on but decided against it, while this is what happens.

I am very pleased with how the necklace turned out, I knew when I seen the lovely kelly green sari silk I needed to use it for a necklace, and the addition of the Second Surf, faceted polymer round, it complimented the Blueberri beads little bird and feather so well.  I have a beautiful green shirt that this necklace with look wonderful with, but also a white tee would make the colors pop.

The lovely clasp was given to me by my bead soup partner, Alicia Marinache, All the Pretty Things, when I thought of this necklace I thought this would be a perfect accompaniment.

I want to thank TheaElements, Blueberri Beads and Smitten beads for this beautiful package of goodies that you sent me, they were smashing.  I am very pleased that I was one of the lucky ones chosen to participate.

Thank you for stopping by and please be sure to check out everyone else's lovelies.

Spring has sprung!!!

I received my Spring Fever Design challenge package awhile back and wanted to share with you the lovelies that TheaElements, Blueberri Beads and Smitten Beads sent.  It was like karma that I have a connector with a butterfly and a cute little daisy.  I love butterflies and the colors oh how they will challenge me.  I don't normally work with bright tones so this will be exciting.  Spring is starting to show her beautiful face in my parts of the world, which I am so thankful for, like many others it has been a very long winter with warmer temperatures a welcome sign.

Here is my wonderful package!!

Make sure to check back April 16th for the big reveal!!

Looking forward to seeing what everyone else has designed with these beautiful creations.

Much love,
Penny

Bead Soup Arrived!!

I am very excited to participate in the 8th Bead Soup Blog Party, I took a couple of years off and felt that I needed to be challenged and I love meeting new friends and the talent and designs that come out of Bead Soup are phenomenal.  I have been lucky to be partnered with many lovely folks around the world but I have never been with a fellow Canadian and this year the lovely Lori Anderson did just that.  My wonderful partner for this round of soup is Alicia Marinache, All the Pretty Things.

Alicia wrote on her blog after she received her soup that we might be "lost at birth sisters" as I was looking at her Focus on Life postings, and I came across a picture of her son and their chocolate lab.  Who would have thought that we both have chocolate labs, what a coincidence.  We love lab Rio she is the best dog that we have ever owned and she loves absolutely everyone.  It looks like Alicia and her family are blessed as well.

Onto the beads though, Alicia sent me a wonderful soup full of magenta, pinks, copper (I love copper) and the palest mauve.  The copper leaf and heart were made my Alicia herself, I feel very honored to be working with these wonderful components.  I already have some ideas brewing!

 The lovely packaging!

Thank you Alicia very much for the soup, it is wonderful and I can't wait to start creating!

Thank you Lori for putting on this wonderful party, I realize that this was probably very challenging with your health concerns but we are all so grateful that you continue to put the party together.  I don't know how you pair us all up but I truly think you are a genius.

I can't wait to see what everyone creates, come back May 3rd for the big reveal!

Much love,
Penny
